Unlocks after Activity 1.17. Three code challenges and a question set.
All three of these repeat something a number of times nobody knows in advance. That is the whole reason while exists, and it is what separates it from the counted loop arriving in Activity 1.19.
Every loop you write here needs a start, a condition, and a change. When one of these will not stop, that is the list to check, in that order — and Ctrl + C stops it while you look.
Nobody lists the steps on any of these pages. You get a result somebody wants, and you write the requirements list first — input, calculate, output, and every decision you had to make yourself.
If that is unfamiliar, read it once here: How to Read a Brief, in Challenge Set 1.
Penny Doubling is one star: a penny that doubles every day, and a loop that runs until it is worth a million dollars. Guess the day before you run it. Piggy Bank is also one star and is the other basic while shape — a running total, stopped by a typed value instead of a target. Guessing Game is three stars, and it is the biggest program in this set: a loop, a decision inside it, a random number, and a count that outlives the loop. Four ideas at once, all of which you already have.
These are options, not a checklist. Pick whichever combination gets you to what the dropbox asks for — Penny Doubling and Piggy Bank are both easier ways in than jumping straight to Guessing Game.
One page this time, not three. The debug and pseudocode challenges for Part 3 arrive later in the part, once there is more than one kind of loop to get wrong.
Question Set 4 is timed at 10 minutes — two less than Question Set 3, on purpose. Start the timer before you read the first question, not after.
Question Set 4 is its own drop, due after this activity. The three code challenges are not due yet — they go into Part 3's pool, which is collected after Activity 1.19, together with the challenges from the activities in between.
The dropbox says how many. This page only says what is available.
